The Helping and Healing Benefits of Canine Massage

So many of us day dream about our next wonderful trip to the spa where we can enjoy a relaxing massage! Those of us who have had professional massages know how wonderful they are, and how good we feel when we've had one! Those of us who have not had a professional massage dare to dream....

Massage has been proven to help us with relaxation, relief of muscle tension, draining of lymph, detoxifying, overall wellness, and so much more. Folks... it's no different for our beloved canine companion! Okay, so maybe Fluffy can't come with you to your massage therapist, but you sure can get him one of his own!

Just as with humans, canine massage therapy has been known to aid dogs in wonderful and healing ways. Some important benefits include: increasing the range of movement and mobility for older dogs, sinus drainage for breeds plagued with sinus problems, increased circulation of the blood and lymph, aid in healing muscle injuries, pre and post-sporting event warm up and cool down, improvment of skin elacticity and so much more!

Puppies, esecially large breed puppies, are often prone to sprains as their giant limbs grow at record speeds. Massage therapy can help growing puppies, to reduce the sprains, and promote blood flow and healthy bone growth.

So, dog lovers, consider incorporating canine massage as part of your dogs wellness program! But remember, it should never take the place of professional veterinary care! Look for a certified massage therapist in your area today!

My pup was actually hit by a car six months ago we give him huge full body massages because he has nerve damage in his paw. It really is stimulating for them. Good read voted up

Oh my gosh... I'm SO sorry that happened! Is he okay? Definitely in this case, the increase in circulation will help prevent atrophy. Keep up the good work. You may want to have a certified therapist stop by at some point to show you some pointers, and do a deep tissue massage for him. I love my puppy so much, I would rather jump in front of a car than let it hit him. Good luck with everything and a speedy recovery my friend.
